About this painting:
"Old Growth Bridges" The giant redwoods (sequoia semperviren) towering trunks draw our senses to the sky in the tallest forest in the world. Time stands still in this ancient temple. The fallen giants crisscross a stream while an elder male Roosevelt elk calls a warning to challengers. The forest whispers stories thousands of years old as branches rustle and squeak in the wind. It intrigues the senses to explore and respect the untouched wilderness. Thank goodness there are still places like this on earth. These experiences encouraged watercolor artist and illustrator Kim Reid to move her studio to Humboldt. Her paintings are often a combination of scenes from many hikes.
